The Colt Lightweight Commander in 9mm Luger is a carry-ready semi-auto pistol built on the iconic 1911 platform. Introduced in 1950 as the aluminum-frame evolution of the Government Model, the Lightweight Commander trims carry weight while keeping the classic single-action trigger, controls, and duty-grade accuracy Colt is known for.
This configuration pairs a 4.25″ barrel with an overall length of 7.75″, giving a balance of concealability and sight radius that suits both everyday carry and the range. The frame is black anodized aluminum alloy and the slide is blued carbon steel, delivering the traditional Commander look at roughly 29 oz.
Out of the box, shooters get Novak carry sights for snag-free draw and quick target acquisition, plus G10 grips for a secure hold. The pistol ships with one 8-round magazine for an 8+1 total capacity. Made in the USA, this is current Colt production of one of the most recognized Commander variants ever offered.
