The Faxon Firearms Match Series Heavy Fluted barrel is a precision-engineered drop-in replacement built for the AR-10 platform. Chambered in 308 Winchester, this 20″ barrel delivers match-grade accuracy with the durability demanded by serious shooters in the field and on the range.
Machined from 416-R stainless steel and button rifled with the 5R pattern at a 1:10 twist rate, this barrel is optimized for a wide range of .308 Win bullet weights from match-grade projectiles to hunting loads. The heavy fluted profile cuts weight versus a solid heavy contour while retaining the rigidity required for consistent shot-to-shot performance. A recessed 11-degree target crown protects the muzzle and supports repeatable accuracy load after load.
The barrel is finished in QPQ Salt Bath Nitride inside and out for exceptional corrosion resistance and surface hardness, giving it a deep black finish that holds up to hard use. The extension is coated with Nickel Teflon (NP3) for ultra-smooth bolt carrier cycling and added lubricity. Standard 5/8×24 muzzle threads accept a wide range of muzzle brakes, flash hiders, and suppressors.
