Description
The Hornady FTX is a .338 caliber, 200 grain polymer-tipped rifle bullet built around Hornady’s patented Flex Tip expansion technology. Designed specifically for the 338 Marlin Express lever-action hunting round, the soft polymer tip compresses on impact to initiate reliable expansion across a wide velocity window while still allowing safe, pointy-nose feeding from a tubular magazine.
Each bullet features a lead core encased in a copper jacket topped with Hornady’s signature flexible polymer tip. It carries a G1 ballistic coefficient of .430 and a sectional density of .250, with a manufacturer-stated velocity window of 1800 to 2800 fps. The .338″ diameter projectile is engineered to deliver the deep penetration and controlled expansion hunters expect from a big-bore lever-gun load on medium and large game.
This reloading component is sold as 100 bullets per box, with 15 boxes per case (1,500 bullets per case). It is intended for handloaders assembling 338 Marlin Express ammunition. As a component-only product, no brass, primers, or powder are included.
