The HSM Bear Load line is purpose-built for dangerous-game defense in bear country, chambered in the classic 45 Long Colt revolver cartridge and loaded with a heavy, hard-cast lead bullet for maximum penetration on the largest, toughest animals.
Each round features a 325 grain Wide Flat Nose (WFN) lead bullet seated in a brass case. The bullet is gas-checked to prevent bore leading at high velocity and to keep the bullet intact as it punches through heavy hide, dense muscle, and bone. The wide, flat meplat drives a large wound channel and resists deflection when impacting heavy skeletal structure.
HSM rates this load at 1155 fps muzzle velocity with 963 ft lbs of muzzle energy, delivering the momentum and frontal diameter serious woodsmen, guides, and backcountry hunters rely on for backup guns, sidearms, and revolvers carried in grizzly and brown bear country.
Each box contains 50 rounds, and the case option bundles 10 boxes (500 rounds) for a serious stock of defensive ammunition. The brass case is fully reloadable for handloaders who want to duplicate the Bear Load formula with their own cast or jacketed components.
