The Iver Johnson Arms 1000 Tactical is a unique revolver-action shotgun chambered in .410 Bore, blending the familiar manual-of-arms of a double-action revolver with the pattern versatility of a defensive shotgun. Its double-action-only trigger works through an external hammer, so the shooter can either let the long DAO pull do the work or cock the hammer for a precise single-action press.
Built around an 18.5-inch barrel threaded for removable choke tubes, the 1000 Tactical carries a 5-shell cylinder and accepts both 2.5-inch and 3-inch .410 Bore shells. The barrel and frame wear a matte black chrome finish, while the synthetic tactical stock shrugs off weather and rough handling for everyday defensive use.
Target acquisition is handled by a fiber optic front sight paired with a blade rear sight, and a manual safety sits at the top of the frame for added control. At roughly 41.85 inches overall, the 1000 Tactical is a trim, fast-handling option for home defense, a truck gun, or any role where a conventional long gun is too cumbersome to carry comfortably.
