The Savage Axis 2 Pro is a purpose-built bolt-action hunting rifle chambered in 400 Legend, configured here in the left-hand compact format with a 20″ threaded barrel, a 4+1 capacity, and Savage’s user-adjustable AccuTrigger. Designed for the modern hunter who wants a compact, maneuverable platform for dense cover or treestand work, this Axis 2 Pro pairs a spiral-fluted barrel with a bronze Cerakote-coated carbon steel action and a textured synthetic stock finished in Savage Woodland camouflage.
At the heart of the rifle is Savage’s proven bolt-action design with the adjustable AccuTrigger, which lets the shooter fine-tune pull weight to match personal preference and shooting conditions. The 20-inch barrel is spiral fluted to shed weight and help dissipate heat, and is threaded at the muzzle for the easy addition of a muzzle brake or suppressor. The compact length of pull paired with the left-hand action makes this configuration a natural fit for southpaw shooters and smaller-framed hunters.
The 400 Legend cartridge is a straight-walled round purpose-built for hunters in states with straight-walled cartridge regulations, delivering manageable recoil, excellent accuracy, and effective terminal performance on whitetail-sized game at typical hunting ranges.
