Description
The Savage Axis 2 XP Compact is a purpose-built left-hand bolt-action hunting rifle chambered in 7mm-08 Remington, designed for shorter-stature shooters and anyone who prefers a more maneuverable rifle in the field. This LH (Left Hand) variant ships with a factory-mounted and boresighted 3-9x40mm scope, so it is ready to hunt straight out of the box.
At its core, the Axis 2 XP is a smooth, reliable bolt-action rifle built around a button-rifled 20″ barrel with a 1:9.5 twist rate. The redesigned ergonomic stock is finished in Matte/FDE (Flat Dark Earth) tough synthetic, with contoured grips, an enhanced fore-end texture, and ambidextrous palm swells on the pistol grip. Savage’s user-adjustable AccuTrigger lets you dial in pull weight to your preference.
Feeding is handled by a detachable 4-round box magazine for a 4+1 total capacity, and the rifle ships with one magazine included. Controls include a manual safety and trigger safety. With an overall length of 39.5″ and a weight of roughly 7.5 lbs, the Axis 2 XP Compact is sized for hunting from treestands, blinds, and tight cover.
The included 3-9x40mm scope features fully multi-coated lenses and tool-less windage and elevation adjustments, and is mounted and boresighted at the factory. Iron sights are not included – the optic is the aiming solution.
