Description
The Sierra Bullets Varminter line is engineered for the high-velocity end of the varmint and target world. This particular bullet carries the .22 caliber / .224″ diameter sizing in a classic 45-grain Spitzer profile, with a jacketed construction that holds together through the rifling and expands reliably in small game at typical varmint velocities.
Sierra rates the Varminter for clean expansion in the 2500 to 2800 fps velocity window, yet the bullet remains stable in cartridges generating up to roughly 3500 fps. Originally designed for the .22 Hornet, it publishes a G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.210 and is reported to be capable of 1/4 MOA accuracy at speeds that would destroy most other bullets in the same weight class.
The Spitzer point produces a streamlined profile for a flat trajectory and clean penetration on varmints. Bullets ship in a 100-count box (5 boxes per case, 500 rounds per case), packaged as loose component projectiles for handloaders building their own varmint and target loads.
