Description
The Weatherby Vanguard Obsidian is a bolt-action hunting rifle chambered in .300 Winchester Magnum, purpose-built for big-game hunting and long-range shooting across open country. It pairs a 24-inch 2 contour blued threaded barrel with a blued drilled and tapped steel receiver, giving shooters a clean, all-black rifle that’s ready to accept optics, muzzle devices, or sound suppressors right out of the box.
The action is fed by an internal 3-round box magazine for a 3+1 capacity, controlled by Weatherby’s proven Vanguard bolt with a 3-position safety and an adjustable two-stage match trigger for crisp, predictable pulls at the bench or in the field. The right-hand configuration keeps the rifle approachable for right-handed shooters.
A black injection-molded composite Monte Carlo stock wraps the barreled action, giving the Obsidian its distinctive stealthy, no-glare appearance and a weather-resistant platform built to take hard use in adverse conditions. At an overall length of 44.5 inches and a weight of 7.5 pounds, the rifle balances well for offhand shooting and packs nicely for spot-and-stalk western hunting. New from Weatherby.
